Beer.TV / Privacy
Privacy policy
Beer.TV is a single acquisition page with an offer form. We collect very little, we do not sell what we collect, and this page explains exactly what happens to it.
Last updated 26 August 2026
1. Who we are
This policy covers the website at beer.tv and any subdomains or subfolders of it, including the journal. In this policy, "Beer.TV", "we", "us" and "our" mean the owner of the beer.tv domain name, acting as the controller of personal information collected through this site.
For anything relating to privacy, including any request described in this policy, contact offers@beer.tv. We answer privacy requests from the same address that answers offers.
2. What this site is
Beer.TV is a page offering a single domain name for sale, plus a journal of market analysis. It is not a shop, it does not process payments, it does not run advertising, and it has no user accounts or logins. That narrow purpose is why we collect so little.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you give us
When you submit the offer form, or email us directly, we receive whatever you choose to provide. The form asks for:
- Your name, which is required
- Your email address, which is required
- Your offer amount in US dollars, which is required
- Your company name, phone number, preferred deal structure, timeline, intended use, and any message, all of which are optional
No field on the form is pre-filled by us. Anything that appears in a field is either something you typed or something your own browser or device autofilled from your saved contact details.
3.2 Information collected automatically
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like effectively all web hosting, Cloudflare processes standard server and network request data in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. That may include IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type, referring page, and the time of the request.
We do not run our own analytics scripts, advertising pixels, session recording, cross site trackers, or fingerprinting tools on this site. If we add privacy respecting analytics in future, this policy will be updated before they go live.
3.3 Cookies
Beer.TV does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies for security and performance, such as bot management. These cannot be switched off without breaking site delivery, and they are not used to profile you or to build an advertising audience.
Fonts are served from this site's own domain. No third party font service, CDN or analytics provider receives your IP address when you load a page here.
4. Why we use it, and our legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis under GDPR |
|---|---|
| Reading, evaluating and replying to your offer | Steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries |
| Negotiating and completing a sale, including via escrow | Performance of a contract |
| Keeping the site available and blocking abuse | Legitimate interest in security and service delivery |
| Keeping records of transactions and correspondence | Legal obligation and legitimate interest in record keeping |
We do not use your information for marketing. We will not add you to a newsletter, and we will not contact you about anything other than your offer or your enquiry unless you specifically ask us to.
5. We do not sell or share your information
Beer.TV does not sell personal information, and does not share personal information for cross context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. We have not sold or shared personal information in the twelve months preceding the date of this policy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and we do not sell or share the personal information of minors.
6. Who we disclose information to
We disclose personal information only to service providers who help us operate this site or complete a transaction, and only for that purpose:
- Cloudflare, for website hosting, content delivery and security
- Our email provider, for receiving and replying to messages sent to offers@beer.tv
- A licensed escrow service, such as Escrow.com, if and only if you proceed to a transaction. The escrow service is an independent controller of the information you give it directly, under its own privacy policy
- Professional advisers, such as legal or accounting advisers, where genuinely needed for a specific transaction
We may also disclose information where required by law, court order or valid legal process, or to establish or defend legal claims. If the beer.tv domain and any associated records are transferred to a new owner, correspondence relating to a live negotiation may transfer as part of that transaction.
7. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, this means your information may be transferred outside your home jurisdiction. Where such transfers occur, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, as implemented by our providers.
8. How long we keep it
- Offers that do not proceed: retained for up to 24 months, so that we can recognise and respond properly if you come back, then deleted
- Offers that proceed to a transaction: retained for up to 7 years, to meet tax, accounting and legal record keeping obligations
- General enquiries: retained for up to 12 months
- Server and security logs: retained by Cloudflare according to its own retention schedule, typically a short period
9. Your rights in California
If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the following rights:
- Right to know. Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it
- Right to delete. Request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions
- Right to correct. Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. We provide no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link because the practice does not occur here
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA
- Right to non discrimination. We will never treat you differently, or change the terms of a sale, because you exercised a privacy right
To exercise any of these, email offers@beer.tv with the subject line "California privacy request". We will verify your identity by matching the details in your request against the information we already hold, which for this site normally means replying from the email address you used. An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission that we can verify. We respond within 45 days and may extend by a further 45 days where necessary, telling you if we do.
10. Your rights in the EEA and UK
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to request access to your personal data, rectification of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, portability of data you gave us, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
Email offers@beer.tv to exercise any of these. We respond within one month and will tell you if we need to extend that period. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, such as the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom, and we would appreciate the chance to resolve the issue directly first.
11. Security
The site is served over HTTPS with TLS. Offer submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection, and access to the offers inbox is restricted and protected by multi factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise, but we keep the amount of information we hold deliberately small, which is the most effective safeguard available to a site like this one.
12. Children
This site is intended for a business audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email offers@beer.tv and we will delete it.
13. Automated decision making
We do not use automated decision making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Every offer submitted through this site is read and answered by a person.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes affecting how we use information already collected will be described here, and where we are required to do so we will seek your consent before applying them to existing data.
15. Contact
